At least you need to set the system code to 12FCh to make the RC-S965 behave as a NDEF formatted NFC Forum tag.

RC-S965 answers as a NDEF formatted NFC Forum tag only when "12FCh" specified in the Polling command.

Apparently still no luck with Felica and the whole subject has been forgotten for a year

All advices are needed. My Sony Felica NFC card wasn't formatted to support NFC NDEF data out-of-the-box. How do I correctly format the Felica NFC card so that it will work with NFC phones as other NFC NDEF tags do?

Thanks for reply rconty. Tag documentation which I've used could be found from here: http://www.sony.net/Products/felica/bus … ndex.html. If I've understood right the RC-S965 should be Felica Lite series and the user manual + other documents could be found behind the link.

6212 complains following error when trying to write NDEF via the NFC menu: "Tag cannot be used". As a software developer I've also tried the JSR-257 api without success. For example when I set my app to listen NDEF tags the tag isn't recognized.

However with my MIDlet I'm able to establish Type3TagConnection with the tag by using Nokia's extensions to the JSR-257. So to be more exact I assume that the tag works as Type3Tag cause the extensions api works with the tag but writing/reading NDEF Message correctly will fail both with my app and with the native software of the phone. I'd like to get the tag data in such a state where smart poster is handled by the phone same way as any other nfc tag containing smart poster or wkt uri.

Do you have any tag documentation?

Directly with the phone, are you able to wrote an NDEF on it ?
(If you go in NFC menu, and share a content using available functions)

Hello,

My problem is that I cannot get the Felica RC-S965 to function as NFC Forum Type 3 tag. So far I've been able to encode the tag so that I'm able to select system code 12FCh after I changed the memory configuration code's system option from 00h to 01h (Block 88h, Byte 3). I wonder what should I do next to get the tag function as NFC Forum Type 3 tag with Nokia 6212 Classic for example? The tag isn't yet detected as NFC tag by the 6212. My goal would be to encode NDEF Message of type NFC Smart Poster on the tag.

Any help?
