Topic: Which ISO/IEC specification is supported by NFC Forum Type-4B device

Hi,

As this is the very basic doubt and I hope it is the right platform to ask this question.

We know that NFC Forum Type-1 supports the ISO/IEC 14443-A specification, which means Type-1 will supports all the commands which are defined in ISO/IEC 14443-A specification. So we called it as Level 3.

So, Which ISO/IEC specification is supported by NFC Forum Type-4B device. Its ISO/IEC 14443-3(Level 3) or ISO/IEC 14443-4 (Level 4).

Thanks & Regards,
Gunjan

You are welcome!
We mainly talk about libnfc and related software but that's also a good place to talk about the technology with free software enthusiast ;-)

As you may know, this forum is a community forum around NFC so that's the contributions which made what is it :-)

IMHO, NFC Forum Type4B relies on NFC-B as specified in NFC Forum's Digital Protocol specification more than ISO/IEC one.
Of course, NFC Forum's Digital Protocol mention ISO/IEC 14443 (without level restriction) but if your device is conform to NFC-B definition without covering whole ISO/IEC 14443 level 4 spec, this should work.

I'm curious, what kind of NFC Forum Type 4B whould you like to create ?
